Enjoying nice spring weather out there, with above-normal temperatures and fairly dry conditions. We have experienced a minor surge in some monsoonal moisture, mainly above 500 mb, which brought a few isolated thundershowers to the region today, mainly eastern areas and the high/low deserts. A drier southwest flow should kick monsoon moisture east of us for the remainder of the week. Expect partly cloudy skies this evening, becoming clear with west winds 5-10 mph as lows cool to the 40s and 50s. Continued breezy and a tad cooler tomorrow, with highs dropping into the upper 70s; west winds 10-20 mph, with gusts around 25 mph possible during the afternoon. Temperatures will come down a few more degrees by the weekend as a stronger onshore flow develops. This will maintain breezy afternoons and near-normal temperatures. High pressure is forecast to strengthen through next week, leading to another warm-up as we officially head into summer on Sunday. Next chance for a possible surge in monsoon moisture could arrive around the end of the month and/or early July.
